6/11/21 Update
Here are some new photos of the sculpture in the courtyard, which is now open.
Pop in sometime for a read with "The Reader."

The Amy Van Andel Library and Ada Community Center is now open and is located at 7215 Headley St SE, Ada.
The building reminds me of the Grand Rapids Art Museum with its bright light, open staircase, and courtyard. This is a gorgeous, well-designed building. Upon entry, you are immediately looking into this courtyard containing tables and a cool sculpture. Unfortunately, there was no access into the courtyard today.
Very friendly and informative people greeted us and gave us the lay of the land. After a few minutes on the first floor, we headed to the second.
Open and airy, the space invites you to grab a book and settle in somewhere.
Not all seats are created equal ~ these go from not good, better, and best 😊
Study rooms and computer stations are available.
And there's a podcast studio - how cool is that?
I saw two of my favorite true crime stories together on a shelf (Devil & Pecks).
Current events will always be represented as well 😉
The sculpture in the central courtyard is visible from all angles/windows.
Entitled "The Reader," it was created by Julian Voss-Andreae. The appearance of the work looks different depending upon your perspective and I can't wait to see it up close in person.
Due to covid, not every room is available for current use.
Last Friday was going to be the library's soft opening but due to the snowy, frigid weather, that opening did not happen. With the sunshine today, the building was shown in its best light.
A used book sale shelf is irresistible, and The Churchills came home with me.
As the current health crisis improves, this building is sure to become a community hub, and a beautiful one at that.
